2026-27 Season
Competing with the Cape Cod Whalers while balancing education, sports, and personal development.
High-volume development environment built around modern goaltending: tracking pucks through traffic, reading plays before they develop, staying active in the game, and handling the puck. Every game is a chance to manage heavy shot volume and stay sharp.
Selective full-time goaltending academy led by Brian Daccord. On ice every school day: daily on-ice and off-ice training, G-Lab sessions, and video review built around save technique, systems, puck handling, and power skating.

What Coaches Say
Insights from coaches who have worked with Dante throughout his development.
"Dante has a blend of technical skills, elite mentality, and game composure. His hockey sense is off the charts and he has exceptionally quick reflexes. As the stakes get higher, he thrives on the pressure. He is fearless between the pipes, he naturally motivates his teammates and he is an excellent 'vocal' communicator."
"Dante brings a great mindset to the rink every day. He competes hard, is always looking to improve, and has grown into a goalie who can impact the game both in the crease and by playing the puck outside of it. He's technically sound and has worked hard to expand his game by confidently coming out to play the puck and support the defense as a third defenseman."

The Player
Dante Cusanno is a 2012 birth year goaltender playing for the Cape Cod Whalers U14 in the 2026–27 season. With 11 championships, including the 2025–26 U14 Bantam AAA State Championship with Arlington Youth Hockey, across multiple levels and a #1 ranking at the 2024 Waterloo National Tournament, Dante has proven himself as an elite competitor at the highest levels of youth hockey.
After proven success at the elite AAA level (Waterloo Champion, EHF Champion, Quebec qualifier), Dante intentionally chose a high-volume development environment with East Coast Wizards. This decision prioritizes long-term goalie development over short-term results, with an emphasis on puck management, play reading, and active game involvement required of a modern goaltender.
Committed to working hard, staying focused and building friendships while balancing education and sports. Striving to be a positive example of teamwork and leadership, both on and off the ice.
